Die Performancereihe On Dynamics and Monuments fokussiert auf Dynamiken und Verhaltensweisen, die innerhalb von Gruppenkonstellationen wirken. Neben dem Verhältnis von Gemeinschaft und Individuum untersuchen die eingeladenen künstlerischen Positionen auch die Interaktionen zwischen Körpern und Posen. Dabei wird der titelgebende Begriff des Monuments als ein Bauwerk oder Objekt, das eine konkrete memoriale Funktion erfüllt, als Denkfigur erweitert: So werden ebenso prägende mediale Bilder wie die darin enthaltenen Konstellationen und Gesten untersucht, die mittels Performances neu erfahrbar gemacht werden können.

Während des Projekts wird an vier aufeinanderfolgenden Abenden aus ganz unterschiedlichen Perspektiven über diese Themen nachgedacht. On Dynamics and Monuments stellt das gemeinsame Kunsterlebnis der Performance im Innen- und Außenraum in den Mittelpunkt und wird auch aktiv mit dem räumlichen Kontext des historischen Milchhof-Gebäudes arbeiten, in dem der Kunstverein Nürnberg ansässig ist.

The performance series On Dynamics and Monuments focuses on dynamics and behaviors operating within group constellations. In addition to the relationship between community and individual, the invited artists also scrutinize the interactions between bodies and poses. The term “monuments” in the title, as an architectural structure or an object that fulfills a concrete memorial function, is expanded as a trope for thought that refers both to defining media images and the constellations and gestures they contain.

On a series of four evenings, the individual performances and artistic contributions will reflect on these themes from very different perspectives. On Dynamics and Monuments emphasizes the joint art experience of the performance in the interior and public space, and will actively explore the spatial context of the historical Milchhof building, in which the Kunstverein Nürnberg is located.
